Our History

Our story begins in 1979, when Scandinavian Design was founded to design and manufacture gift wrap for retail customers. Scandinavian Design would later rebrand as International Greetings in 1989, to reflect a decade of international growth.

The company would go on to complete several mergers and acquisitions in the following decade, including Belgrave Graphics, Britesparks, and Hy-Sil Massachusetts, which has a history dating back to 1903.

In 1995, Design Group floated on the London Stock Exchange.

By the mid-2000s, Design Group would go on to acquire Anker International in the UK, Artex and Anchor in Europe, and a 50% stake of Artwrap in Australia.

The 2010s were marked by significant new investments, including into new printing presses in the UK and Europe, plus a visit by Her Majesty The Queen to open our new print plant at Design Group UK in Wales.

In 2018, International Greetings rebranded as Design Group.

Today, Design Group is on a mission to make moments special, providing retailers and consumers around the world with the best celebration and creative products.
